Winter Storm Coverage...
Its 6:45 PM right now and skies are a bit foggy in area's. The current temperature reading here is 37.0 F. A light N wind is blowing, it will turn to an NE/E wind later. We are watching the moisture start to develope in Southern Oregon. We may start out as rain here first but it will transition to Snow. The moisture may reach us a bit earlier than expected so we'll have to keep an eye out on this. Keep your page here for more updates...

I live in Orchards, Washington. it is 35.3 on my back porch with a 33 degree dewpoint and a light north wind. The east wind hasn't picked up yet at Troutdale but once it does it should further cool and dry the airmass in the greater metro area. Once the dewpoints drop due to the east wind, the first precip that falls may be forced to evaporate in the drier air. Evaporation takes heat away from the air which may allow temps to drop a couple more degrees before the precip hits the ground, giving a pretty solid chance at snow. Its lookin good! And now it looks like tomorrow evening's rain showers may turn back to a mix after midnight. Snow!
